I suppose I'm biased having the Robert Still website, but I do not like everything he wrote. I do know that a great deal of work went into editing and performing these pieces by James Dickenson and the Villiers Quartet. The result has been an excellent recording both in terms of performance and recording quality. The contrasting first and second tonal quartets stand up well against the last two without tone, but not dramatically atonal. The CD is reinforcement to the argument that he is still unjustly neglected.
