Opening the CD are two tracks of melodrama, with spoken words.Rakastava is well known from many recordings. The Suite in D is a late period piece, discovered unplayed after Sibelius had died. Vänskä has a recording of it as well. A pleasant light piece.The program is well planned and will play as good back ground music. Not exactly what the symphony fan wants. But Sibelius is difficult to approach outside of symphony size orchestral pieces. This is a start.
