I purchased this for a 2002 Ford F-250 Super Duty. I had to drop the fuel tank (in order to work on a brake line) and figured I would replace these little filters inside the tank. Many people will have the large screen break down over time. If it does, it will fall into the tank. Not only will your fuel no longer be strained, but it can make your fuel gauge read incorrectly. Mine broke as I was removing it since it was over 18 years old and getting brittle. More importantly, the 2 little filters inside were completely black and covered in grime. I did try to clean them, but ultimately they needed to be replaced. This kit took care of all 3 issues.
